Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed is defending the decision to fight rebels in the northern Tigray region.
Leaders in Tigray say they would accept a federal government ceasefire if certain demands are met.
Speaking in parliament on Monday, the prime minister described Tigrayan forces as a danger to the rest of the country.
