US food insecurity: More than 40 million people may be affected this year

While the US economy is showing signs of recovery, millions of families are still struggling to put food on the table.
Public health experts say food insecurity more than doubled during the pandemic. Federal aid is helping fund food banks, but many still rely on the kindness of strangers.
